The Birkenhead club decided to run a ‘pop up’ RG65 Open Event with an 11am start on the Saturday of the Jubilee weekend and we managed to get 9 entries, 2 Pocket Rockets (Dave Creed), 6 Uno (Caccerelli/VAM) and 1 Argon (Sails etc/Bantock).

The Birkenhead club decided to run a ‘pop up’ RG65 Open Event with an 11am start on the Saturday of the Jubilee weekend and we managed to get 9 entries, 2 Pocket Rockets (Dave Creed), 6 Uno (Caccerelli/VAM) and 1 Argon (Sails etc/Bantock).


Only 6 sailors but with the A+ wind at times straight down the lake 10 races were held. With the few boats it was decided to do without a RO with the first over the finish line doing the marking. During the racing several boats were swapped to see if there were any glaring tuning errors.

The next DF/RG65 Summer Series event originally planned for the 11th June will now be held on the 4th June and will also be an Open event. This is primarily to allow more practice and boat setup for anyone planning to attend the RG65 Open at Bornville on the 11th June. Racing will start at 11:00, with no start after 16:00 and around 30 minutes break for lunch. Entry for the day will be £3 with free tea/coffee or bottled water. A few spare boats are available to loan for the day if you would like to try out this fantastic small racing machine (further details on the event page).
The Social Sailing Day originally planned for the 4th has now been moved to the 11th June.
The series figures have now been updated here which show Martin currently with a commanding lead.
Three sailors from the club entered the RG65 Nationals held this year at Eastbourne & District MYC. All three ended up in the prizes with Graham Elliott sailing an Electronica first, Peter Baldwin in an Uno fifth and John Brierley also sailing an Uno sixth.
