Saturday 15th December RM Winter Series 2
Please check this website for information on whether this race will proceed as currently our lake is iced over. An announcement will be made by 7pm Friday to assist those who may be travelling distance to race.

Calendar Update
We have added the Boxing Day Bell IOM Race to our Winter Series Calendar. Start time is 1pm sharp. Feel free to bring along Christmas snacks for our tea break.

All members are reminded that any days not listed originally in the Winter Series Calendar are set aside for open sailing. It is suggested that any skippers wanting to get together for some informal racing on these days to share their intentions through the website Message Board.

Birkenhead MYA League Winners 2012!
We are proud to announce that over the 2012 MYA Season, Birkenhead MY&PC skippers collectively have won the MYA Radio League. This win is a reflection of the growing number of travelling Birkenhead skippers representing our club in MYA events. Well done everyone!
Congratulations to club member Darin Ballington for taking out the Individual League from Brad Gibson.

A reminder to all skippers that this coming Sunday 7/10/12 is the final round of the Northern District Summer Series, Start time 10.00 am. Could skippers wishing to attend please enter asap through Brad Gibson so that racing numbers and details for lunch can be finalised.

Any skipper wishing to make a weekend of it are more than welcome to bring their RM for Saturday’s club race.  This is the final hit out for our UK skippers travelling to the World RM Championships in France 14-21 October LINK

Upcoming Races
Saturday 8th September is the IOM STREBOR Open Race with a Briefing at 9.45am for a 10.00am start, finish time to be decided on the day (approx 5.00pm).

Sunday 9th September is the Northern District RM Ranking Race which is to be held at West Kirby Marine Lake. Briefing at 9.45am for a 10.00am start, wih no race to start after 4.30pm. This event will be the final hit out for our best GBR team skippers before next month’s World Championships in France and a great opportunity to see World Class Marblehead racing locally.

Any club skipper wishing to enter in either of the above races should contact the Sailing Secretary at bgrcyachting  ‘at’ hotmail.com, or use the MYA Onilne Entry Form for the RM Ranking.
Lunch on the Saturday will be available at the canteen and it is also presumed that lunch will be available on the Sunday at West Kirby Sailing Club.

As both races are being run by Birkenhead MY&PC, we are asking that any members not wishing to sail in either of the IOM or RM events above could kindly offer their assistance on either day to help run these events. Now is the time to step forward if you have not done so yet this year! Please let Brad know if you can help out.

Our Condolences
It is with sadness to hear of the passing of Elizabeth Jones. Elizabeth was a longstanding life member of Birkenhead where she supported boat builder and sailor husband Ken, along with grandsons Graham and Chris Elliott. We pass on our condolences to family and friends.
