Birkenhead Radio Sailing & Power Club
after 12 races
Sunshine and A rigs (with a bit of submarining in some of the gusts!)
9 races.
A small but eager group of M skippers gathered at the club for what turned out to be one of the best racing days of the season thus far.
Dave Potter was there with his latest Creed chined hull with an experimental shorter fin, Alan Watkinson with his Starkers, along with Bill Culshaw – Grunge and Brad Gibson with the 21 year old pimped Paradox.
C rigs were used for the day with a beautiful NW breeze blowing straight down the length of the lake. There were a few nosedives and close calls over the course of the afternoon with 14 races sailed.
In the end it was Brad (8 wins) who took out the day after a close battle with Bill (6 wins). Alan and Dave had some good moments and were far closer to the front end than the scores suggest.
In all a fantastic day of M racing at the club.
We look forward now to hosting the UK Marblehead Veterans and 2 day Ranking weekend at West Kirby’s marine lake and suggest anyone looking to see Radio Sailing at its best to get along and take a close look.

Scores after 14 races and 2 drops
Thanks to Dave, Ernie and Bernie for undertaking the starter duties with their usual aplomb.
10 races sailed
After 10 races.
Series 2 now complete. Provisional results here
Interesting wind conditions again today. One moment not enough wind for an “A” rig, the next, too much for a “B” rig.
10 races were completed in the challenging conditions.
