Wind blowing over the houses normally seems to make for really shifty conditions, and today’s sailing didn’t disappoint.
Although the general direction was from the West, every leg of the course seemed to contain at least one beat, a reach, a run and a number of flat spots which everyone visited a number of times during the morning.
RO duties were shared out, with Dave kindly starting race 1, and although there were some concerns that the line might need altering it appeared to make no difference where anyone started in the gusty conditions.
Sally and Stan made a welcome reappearance after a summer break, and racing was very close with much place changing, boats changing tacks without changing direction, those in the lead being caught by the pack and a very tricky finish in the calm area on the houses side of the lake.
Mike ran out the winner after 10 races, with John and Alan tied on points but with 2nd going to Alan with more wins.
