AGM 19th November 2016

Your committee would like to invite all club members to the AGM to be held on Saturday 19 November 2016 at 2.00pm at The Royal Mersey Yacht Club at Rock Ferry who have kindly agreed to host us again.

The club is the last development on the right as you go up Bedford Road East away from the Refreshment Room pub/restaurant.

Park on the road or, if you’re early, in the yard. Pass through the gates and the yard to find the clubhouse entrance (steps leading to a large blue door) on the far left.

The bar will be open from 1:30pm and sandwiches will be provided after the meeting.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Final Call for Strebor Open

A reminder to everyone, if you are planning on attending the Strebor IOM Open this weekend, please email Graham Elliott with your entry.

If you know of any visitors who might want to attend, please let them know.

IOM 2016/17 Winter Series Dates

The full calendar will be updated soon, but the IOM Winter series will take place on the following dates:

NOVEMBER  26th
DECEMBER   3rd, 10th * – (Changed from 17th)
JANUARY      7th, 14th 28th
FEBRUARY    11th,  25th

8 Races in total with the best 5 to count.

All races will start promptly at 1pm and continue until 4.30 or poor light whichever comes first!

 

Strebor IOM Open Meeting – 5th November 2016

Our annual Strebor IOM Open Meeting takes place on 5th November this year.

Briefing will be at 09.45 and no race will start after 4pm.

Tea and coffee will be available at the club, but please bring your own food for lunch.

Entry fee is £3.

Entry fee is payable on the day, but please advise Graham Elliott at elliottyachts@hotmail.co.uk if you intend to enter so we are aware of the numbers.

Please spread the word as this is our last major event of the season.

 

Notice of Annual General Meeting

As the summer season draws to a close it is once again time to prepare for our Annual General Meeting which will be held at 2pm on Saturday the 19th of November at the Royal Mersey Yacht Club, Rock Ferry as last year.

It is your opportunity to have your say in the direction of the Club, to catch up with old friends and have a beer together…..we hope you can come along.

Please advise any items you would like to be included on the agenda, motions for discussion/voting and any proposals for for election of Committee members at least 30 days before the meeting.

An extract from the club articles is included below for your
guidance:

11.2.3 to Elect/Re-elect the Officers, Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer and Ordinary members of the Committee nominations for which shall be received by the Honorary Secretary not less than 30 days before the date of the Annual General Meeting,

11.2.5 to vote on any motion signed by two Full, Family, or Honorary [Life] members a copy of which must be received by the Honorary Secretary not less than 30 days prior to the meeting

The agenda will be circulated at least 14 days before date of the meeting.
