We have brought forward the start time for the RG65 Popup event to allow for more races with the potential for the light fading rapidly if we started later.
Racing will now start promptly at 11:30 and the club will be open from 10.30 for practice.
Eight races sailed in gusty conditions on the “tree side” of the lake. Despite the Met Office “Strong Wind Warning” for the area, all were using top suits and hanging on through the gusts.
14 competitors turned up for the first race of the winter series, including visitors from Scotland and Fleetwood, and were greeted with a good breeze straight down the lake, testing the limits of the number 1 rigs.
Unfortunately, 2 suffered gear failures even before the start so we only had 12 starters.
Nine races were held with the last completed in fading wind and light!
