The committee have decided that as the water level has gone down even further in the last two weeks, that this weekends IOM Racing should be cancelled as although rain is forecast, it is not expected to be sufficient to raise the lake level enough for racing.
The first step which can normally only just be seen in the water is now around 2 inches (50mm) above the water level, as can be seen in the photo below. It is estimated that the lake is 12″ (300mm) lower than the full state.
The committee will inform members when the lake may be sailable again. It is expected that this could be at least another 4 weeks away.
