With thanks to Bill Culshaw for the initiative, we are now also running a Veterans IOM Club Championship in conjunction with the overall Championship within the club. All members over 60 years of age are included with the top 3 places over the season being awarded prizes donated by both Housemartin Sails and BG Sails & Design. Scoring positions are noted on the left hand column of the overall scores updated after each round, posted HERE.

This coming weekend 12 club members are travelling to Castle Semple, Scotland for round 2 of the IOM Ranking. Skipper lists and results can be found HERE.

Club racing this weekend is for the Fleur de Lys 10R Cup, starting from 2pm.

Open 800 Class Racing

First race starts at 11.30am sharp with no racing starting after 1.00pm. Racing will be staged using a modified RYGGED system to handicap all to keep things close.
IOM racing will follow from 2.00pm sharp.

Lake Clean Up Day, 10/3/12

Our first scheduled lake and clubhouse clean up day was an eventful one, with close to a skip bin load of rubbish consisting of microwaves, car tyres, crutches, piping, scooters, bikes, wiring, bricks and other treats being removed from the lake.

A very big thank you for a great job performed by the following members showing the Birkenhead club spirit of getting in and getting your hands dirty is once again alive. To those members who missed it, next drinks are on you 🙂

IOM Ranking, Bartley Green, 3-4/3/12

Over the weekend Birkenhead skippers contended with rain showers, sleet, snow, gusting winds and a general battle of the elements in the first IOM Ranking Races of the season. Results show that a long winter series of close racing has kept our members at the top end of the fleet and we look forward to the next Ranking weekend at Castle Semple, Scotland on the 5th and 6th of May.
