IOM Veterans National Championship, 7-8/7/12

This coming weekend, 7-8th July, sees the club hosting the UK IOM Veterans Nationals. With entries now closed we have 22 competitors looking to take the crown of Veteran Champion.

A reminder to all competitors that racing starts at 10am sharp on Saturday with skippers asked to be prepared early for boat weigh in and registration. The club house gates will be open from 2.30pm until 5pm on Friday 6th July for those wishing for a practice sail or to take a look at the venue.

RM Alpha Cup, 30/6/12

A big thank you to the club members who turned for our second Clean Up of the year in preparation for next weekends IOM National Veterans Championship.

RM racing took place with 10 boats in a tricky SW breeze which made the going tough for competitors. The wind was gusting anywhere between light A rig to hard C rig and Martin Roberts showed a return to form with a solid performance.

IOM Club Championship 5, 9/6/12

Round 5 of the IOM Club Championship was held in a gusting NW breeze with B suits used. Once again there was some tight racing at the top and some other close finishes between all skippers down the fleet.

IOM Club Championship 4, 26/5/12

A gusty 10-15 knot Easterly wind tested skippers with B rigs and large wind shifts. Racing at the front end was extremely close between the top 5 skippers with 4 different heat winners.

Next week sees Birkenhead skippers trekking south to Two Islands, Milton Keynes for the IOM National Championships with a 77 boat boat fleet.

RM Hamburg Cup 19/5/12

A very light and fickle ENE wind made the conditions tough for the 8 skippers competing. The fleet welcomed another converted IOM skipper to RMs for the first time with Richard Hampson having a good first up day in second place after some close races at the front with Brad, Vernon and Jim.
